Where did the Nazi Swastika Originate?
I chose to go over this question because while we were discussing the Nazi party as a class, my teacher mentioned that the swastika hasn't always been a symbol of hatred, and in doing so, he intrigued me into its history.

Answer
The swastika has come to be known as a symbol of racism and hatred, but it hasn't always been that way. The swastika has been around for thousands of years, being found on ancient scrolls and temples. It originally was sign of prosperity and good luck. It was a highly religious symbol and is still used by some Indian cultures and a few religions today. The word swastika comes from the Sanskrit word svastika which literally translates to "it is good."
